Problem: We need to be able to match the exposure of filming in-car during the day against bright windows, as well as producing a subtle in-car illumination at night. We need a large range of light output for daylight and tungsten. The units need to be rigged permanently and discretely.
Solution: kicklite 106 is light enough and small enough to be mounted almost anywhere in the vehicle. A series of daylight heads are chosen because the focused light output far surpasses a fluorescent fitting. Multiple heads are fitted using a mixture of stick’n’stick Velcro and Gaffer, each with its own discreet inline dimmer, powered via the vehicles cigarette adaptor and splitter cables. As dusk falls, CTO correction and diffusion are fixed on within seconds using the unique magnetic mount. The individual levels are easily adjusted to create the right light balance. The camera crew is happy to have such efficient control in a time pressurized environment, and the producers are happy to have better quality pictures without a perceivable delay.
